Phlegm is the mucus type substance produced as a waste in the body. It gets expelled from the body through natural orifices. In many of the diseases, the phlegm is produced but not expelled out properly. This causes swelling and other discomforts. If the phlegm is inflamed, it can lead to many disease conditions. It is very important to maintain a balanced and healthy metabolism with proper digestion, absorption, assimilation, and excretion. Any damage in any of these organs or systems can cause severe diseased conditions over time.
