PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF UTERINE POLYPS
The pathophysiology of uterine polyps is based on the causative factor. The repeated cell division in the internal layer of the uterus occurs. It is the major cause of heavy bleeding. Any process that interferes with the normal endocrine, paracrine or hemostatic functions of the endometrium as well as possibly any interference with myometrial contractility may also cause heavy bleeding. Uterine polyps grow in response to circulating estrogen.

- Endometrial biopsy
- Blood tests – to measure the hormonal imbalance. level of haemoglobin (in case of heavy bleeding)
